Zachary Keith Benson, 65, passed away December 1, 2017. He was born in Wilmington NC, on October 1, 1952 to Margaret and James Benson. Growing up on the coast, Keith was always passionate about the coastal lifestyle and loved to fish, clam, and dig oysters. He delighted to take others with him on these adventures. His joy in life was to talk to others about Jesus. A memorial service will be held at Central Steele Creek�Presbyterian Church on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 1:30 PM. Following the service,�a celebration of Zachary Keith's life will be held at Steele Creek�Senior Apartments by drop in between�3:00 PM - 6:00 PM.�Keith's ashes will later be scattered off the coast of Carolina Beach. Keith is survived by his father, James H. Benson (Anna) of Wilmington NC, a brother; James Kent Benson (Susie) of Cookeville Tn., sisters; Roxanne Smith of Charlotte NC, Angela Roberts of Wilmington NC, aunt; Joan Faires of Ritchfield, NC, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Keith was preceded in death by his mother; Margaret Fields Benson, and nephew; Scott Purser. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
