William "Chuck" Underwood, 63, passed away on July 29, 2026. Chuck will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his devotion to family and friends, his love of animals, and his proud service to his country.

Born on October 09, 1962, in Union County North Carolina. Chuck spent most of his adult life working in residential construction, where he dedicated himself to building custom homes. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and the relationships he formed throughout his career.

Chuck had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, and taking in the beauty of nature. He had a special affection for animals, especially dogs and cats, and found great joy in caring for them. Some of his favorite moments were spent visiting his mother and sister, where he loved spending time with Bella and Lacey, his sister Lisa's dogs, as well as Stella and Willow, the beloved pets of his niece Haley and her husband, Dylan.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Chuck served honorably alongside his lifelong friend, Roger Reeder. Their bond remained strong throughout the years, and it is fitting that Roger will officiate Chuck's funeral service.

Chuck is survived by his loving mother, Faye Shultz Underwood; his sister, Lisa (Underwood) Kuopus; his niece, Haley (Kuopus) Liles and her husband, Dylan Liles; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026 from 1:00pm until 1:45pm with a service immediately following at 2:00pm at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112.

Mr. Underwood will be laid to rest at 12:30pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Salisbury National Cemetery Annex, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Chuck's legacy of loyalty, kindness, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
