Obituary

William Hoyte Fowler, 91, passed away on September 4, 2026.

Hoyte was born on October 11, 1934, to Andrew Fowler and Rossie Fowler. He married Peggy O’Neil Whitley on June 9, 1956, and together they had two children.

Hoyte was a local farmer in his younger years and a proud business owner of Carolina Communications in his later years. He was a hardworking man who loved his family very much. He loved working outside in his yard and driving tractors. He wasn’t afraid to get dirty, but he still loved to look flashy and was always a very well-dressed man.

He loved spending time with his wife, Peggy. His favorite restaurant was Golden Corral, and he never missed a day there. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the best grandfather, husband, and father you could have asked for.

Visitation will be held at Holland Funeral Service on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Macedonia Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest at Lakeland Memorial Park.

Hoyte is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Fowler; his sisters, Mellie and Monie Fowler; his daughter-in-law, Carmen Fowler, her mother Ellen Benton; his sister-in-law, Martha Rushing; his grandchildren, Chris Fowler, Justin Fowler (Cindy), and Kaitlyn Fowler; his grandson-in-law, Trenton English; his granddaughter-in-law, Nichole Thomas; and his great-grandchildren, Kaden Fowler, Mason Fowler, Brier Walters, Easton English, and Colsen English.

Hoyte was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold, Jack, and Paschal Fowler; his sisters, Kathryn and Christine Fowler; his sons, Mark and Brian Fowler; and his great-grandson, Benjamin Wyatt.

Holland Funeral Service is serving the Fowler Family.
