Thomas Joseph Evans, 66, passed away October 24, 2026. He was born January 26, 1960 to the late Edward and Ann Evans. Thomas will be remembered for the kindness he showed to others. He was a master electrician and would never fail to lend a helping a hand. He will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service. Pastor Aaron Griffin will officiate.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Mountain View Baptist Church, 2820 Lum Davis Lane, Lenoir, NC. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Carter Dermid, Rob McVickers, Daniel Landen, Randy Kiker, Jamie Knight, and Zeke Gray.

In addition to his parents, Thomas is preceded in passing by his brother, Michael E. Evans, and sister, Margaret "Peggy" Evans Cardwell.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 25 years, Karen Evans, daughter, Amanda Vittitow, grandchild, Elijah "KEAV" Vittitow, brothers, John F. Evans of Rustburg, VA, and David B. Evans (Hailey) of Hurt, VA; sister, Susan Evans Gore (Brooks) of Connelly Springs, NC, nieces and nephews, Kersten Cardwell Morrison, Jackie Evans, Michelle Evans Drake (Jeff), Nicholas Evans Gore, Callie Alyne Gore, Randy Evans, and Michael Evans; and his fur babies, Sammi and Jax.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Union County Animal Shelter, 3340 Presson Rd, Monroe, NC 28112. Please make checks payable to the Union County Animal Shelter specifying "In Memory of Thomas Evans."
