Stephen Wayne
Hargett
August 29, 1962 – March 22, 2026
Steve passed away on March 22nd after going into cardiac arrest that left him with extensive brain damage.
He was probably the funniest person I ever met. He also had a very sensitive side that most people didn't know about. But his family did.
Here are some thoughts from our daughter, Mia.
Daddy had a song for everything. He used to pick me up from school when I was having panic attacks and drive around the country playing me music. He used music as a means of healing, just having fun, a lesson. Daddy always had a song for it and I'm so grateful for that. I could talk to Daddy about anything and he was always willing to sit and listen. My dad was more than just my best friend, he was alot of people's best friend. We went through hell and back but I'm proud and grateful to have the dad I did. He taught me how to get up and get stuff done and how to know when it was time to accept help. Daddy wasn't afraid of honesty or tears, happy tears included. He cried when he heard my son singing the Oakridge Boys, he said "you really did show him". I'll show the world as much as I can, this world needs more men like that. You did a good job Daddy and I love you more than I can articulate. Thank you for being my Dad, sleep good Daddy and sweet dreams.
In addition to his wife Cindy, daughter Mia and grandson Dominic he leaves behind his oldest brother Brad, little sister Lisa, his best friend of 49 years William Cacho. He also an older brother David that passed away in 2010.
