Sharon “Gail” Haynes Andrews

January 16, 1970 – June 9, 2026

Sharon “Gail” Haynes Andrews, 56, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, at 6:21 a.m. after a courageous battle with sepsis, a complication arising from a very rare and aggressive form of uterine cancer.

Born on January 16, 1970, in Burlington, North Carolina, Sharon was the beloved daughter of Allen Gary Haynes and the late Linda Jarrett Haynes. She graduated from Mt. Tabor High School and later attended Wingate College.

Sharon was a loving wife, devoted mother, caring sister and aunt, cherished daughter, and faithful friend. She is survived by her husband, Mathew Andrews; her children, Eli Andrews and Lillie Andrews; her father, Allen Gary Haynes; and her brother, Christopher Allen Haynes.

She also leaves behind her niece, Mackenzie Haynes Piotrowski and her husband, Tyler Piotrowski; her nephew, Jarrett Christopher Haynes and his fiancée, Kiera Perkins; along with many extended family members, church family, and dear friends who loved her deeply.

After the passing of her mother, Sharon became the glue that held her family together. Her strength, compassion, and unwavering love for those around her were a source of comfort and stability to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

A devoted Christian, Sharon loved the Lord with all her heart. She faithfully served alongside her husband, Mat, and their children, Eli and Lillie, at Ebenezer Baptist Church. She sang in the church choir, assisted with children’s ministry, and lived her faith daily through her kindness, generosity, and service to others. Her relationship with Christ guided every aspect of her life and was evident in the way she cared for her family, friends, and community.

Sharon dedicated herself to homeschooling her children, pouring her heart into their education and spiritual growth. She found great joy in being a wife and mother and treasured every moment spent with her family.

She was known for her love of cooking and was a favorite cook among family and friends. Sharon also loved spending time at the beach and held fond memories of serving with SummerShine in the Outer Banks during her college years. Whether through a home-cooked meal, a heartfelt conversation, or a simple act of kindness, she had a remarkable way of making people feel loved and valued.

Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Sharon is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We rejoice in the promise that she has been reunited with her mother and is finally home.

Sharon will be forever missed. Not a day will go by that she will not be thought of, remembered, and loved. Her faith, her love, and her legacy will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.

A visitation will be held Friday, June 19, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm at Ebeneezer Baptist Church in Indian Trail, NC. A Celebration of Life Service follows at 7:00 pm. Pastor Eddie Powers will be officiating.
