Dateline: Wingate, NC Marvin Scott Jacumin, 52, passed away November 14, 2015. Scott was born on August 7, 1963 to Johnny Millard Jacumin and Mary "Cookie" Virginia Christenbury. Scott� was an avid sports enthusiast, he raced go-karts nationally winning several national championships. He holds the world record for the fastest track time on a go-kart at Talledega Motor Speedway. He raced stock cars in the sportsman division and sat on the pole at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Scott was employed by Union County Public Schools for over 20 years as both a national board certified teacher and director of instructional technology and most recently taught at Mitchell High School. A service to celebrate Scott's life will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Wingate Baptist Church sanctuary 109 E. Elm Street, Wingate NC, 28174 with Dr. J. Derrill Smith and Rev. Janet R. Tyson officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from 1:00 PM until 2:45PM in Wingate Baptist Church fellowship hall. The family will hold a private burial following the service. Scott is survived by his daughter Anna Marie Jacumin; son, John Luke Jacumin; mother Mary "Cookie" Jacumin; sister, Ginger Sellers (Brad), niece Mollie S. Willis (Ben); nephew, Matt Sellers; and Kristin Jacumin. Scott was preceded in death by his father Johnny Millard Jacumin on June 17, 2010.
