Richard Eugene Bass, 60, passed away September 30, 2019. Mr. Bass was born on April 19, 1959 in Albemarle County, VA to the late Henry and Verla Bass. A service to celebrate his life will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Kent Burgess Music Room, 5302 Austin Road, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Those left to cherish his memory are his spouse, Shelby Purser; daughters, Reba Bass, and Kelly Bass; stepchildren, Malia Martin, Shon Purser (Belinda), Chad Helms, Trinity Helms, and Steven Helms; brother, James Henry Bass Jr. (Robin); sisters, Diane Ray (Steven), Patricia Wallace, and Gayle Hinson (Jimmy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
