Philip Greg
Jones
June 18, 1976 – April 16, 2026
Philip Greg Jones passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends, after a long battle with cancer.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Cameron Jones, and his daughter, Taylar Jones. He was preceded in death by son, Dillon Collodi.
He is also survived by his parents, Phil and Sharon Jones; his sister, Beth Johnson of Marshville; his mother-in-love, Belva Stanley; and was preceded in death by his father-in-love, Leland W. Stanley Jr. of Wingate. Greg is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Shane Vickers and Jay Hargett (Jayme); his niece, Kaylin Parker; and his nephews, Trace Hargett, Grant Johnson, and Bryan Johnson.
Greg leaves behind many dear friends who were more like family and loved him as a brother.
He worked as Operations Manager of Transportation at Edwards Wood Products and was formerly Operations Manager at Unicon of Marshville.
Greg loved with all his heart and lived life out loud. He enjoyed a cold beer on a sunny day, grilling, laughing, and talking with friends. Lakeside bonfires often brought buddies together for side by side rides and good times. Afternoons after work often included a quick visit to "The Country Club" to catch up on the latest news and share plenty of laughs. For Greg, a perfect day ended with a freshly striped lawn, belly laughs and a grilled steak dinner shared with his best girls, Cameron and Taylar, with his lap full of his steadfast companions, his Shih Tzus, Remi and Popo.
Husband, dad, son, brother, and friend, Greg made the lives of all who knew him better. We are all better people for the time we were blessed to spend with him.
"If I should go tomorrow
It would never be goodbye,
For I have left my heart with you
So don't you ever cry.
The love that's deep within me
Shall reach you from the stars,
You'll feel it from the heavens,
And it will heal with scars."
