Patricia Keziah Hartis of Marshville passed away after a brief illness on Friday, July 26. Mrs. Hartis was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose door was always open. Whether it was a quick visit or a Sunday supper—often featuring vegetables she'd lovingly canned from the garden—you needn't even knock. In her younger years, she enjoyed vacationing with her family in Kure Beach and Maggie Valley. Her life was one of faith and family, and for 55 years she rarely left her late husband's side. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Earl Reid Hartis, who preceded her in death in 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Sue Lee Keziah; her brothers, Tammy Keziah and Terry Keziah; her sisters, Judy Motes and Mary Diane Keziah; her grandson, Jonathan Hartis; and her great-grandson, Brent Merritt. She is survived by her sons, Jeff Hartis and Tony Hartis; her daughter-in-law, Suzanne Hartis; her sisters, Donna Godfrey and Sherry Griffin; her brother, Joel Keziah; three grandchildren, Amy Sutton, Katie Ulrich and Daniel Hartis; and six great-grandchildren. A service will be held at Solid Rock Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 31 at 11 a.m. Memorials can be made to Solid Rock Baptist Church in Monroe. Holland Funeral Service is honored to care for the Hartis family. Online condolences may be made at www.hollandfuneralservice.com.
