IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Norma Jean
Fry
October 26, 1937 – February 14, 2026
Norma Jean Miller Baldwin Fry left to meet her Shepherd on Saturday, February 14, 2026. She was born in Level Cross, NC on October 26, 1937 to Rex Edward Miller and Zarada Ellen Gray. Her mother, Rada, often mentioned Norma, the baby of the family, was born weighing 10 pounds and had a head full of dark hair. There were two brothers, Tommy Miller and Bryce Miller and a sister, Betty Joyce Tutterow, all preceding her in death. Also preceding her in death in addition to her parents, were her first husband, Ernest Hal Baldwin, her second husband, Charles Al Fry, son in law, David Belk Sr, and grandson Michael Belk.
Norma loved life and being on the go - whether it be shopping (she really loved shopping), going to the races, the beach, the mountains or square dancing. She developed a life long love of camping, starting when her children were young and creating cherished childhood memories. After the kids were grown, she and Charles celebrated their anniversary in Franklin, NC in their camper every year. She loved working with her hands and crocheted some of the most beautiful afgans. She also loved jewelry making. Professionally, she worked in electronics, starting in Baltimore MD for Westinghouse, where she placed an American Flag in every completed electronics package for the military and she loved that! After returning to North Carolina, the family settled in Monroe and she went to work for Scott Aviation, staying until retirement. We will all remember her salmon cakes with cornbread and the very best no bake fruitcake at Christmas, hoping there would be leftovers to go home in our Christmas bag! Norma truly loved the Lord, attending church regularly her entire life. She loved gospel music, especially the Gaithers and really enjoyed seeing them in concert. She loved all that is good and held on to that good, Romans 12:9.
Those left to always cherish her memory are her four adoring children, Karen Jeanese Belk, Kathy Diane Belk (Richard Sr), Ernest Edward Baldwin (Renea), Timothy Hal Baldwin (Kathy), 10 grandchildren, 17 great grand children and 1 great great granddaughter.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 11:45 AM Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 6907 Gus Eubanks Rd. Monroe, NC 28112. The service to celebrate her life will follow at 12:00 PM in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church sanctuary. Ms. Fry will be laid to rest at the church cemetery.
Romans 12:9- Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

Psalms 23:1-6The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
