� ����������� Norma Lee George Barton of Matthews, North Carolina, slipped away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2017 after a brief illness. � ����������� Born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, on April 5, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Alva A. George and L. Pearl Heater George. ����������� Following her 1949 graduation from Victory High School in Clarksburg, she began her career as a print advertising layout designer with the Clarksburg Exponent-Telegram. �Her next step was with Hartley's in Fairmont, West Virginia. �When her family moved to Fostoria, Ohio, she worked at the Fostoria Review-Times and the Spenley Agency until relocating to Medina, Ohio. �There, she joined the staff of the Medina County Gazette from which she retired. ����������� In 2014, Norma moved from Medina to Charlotte, North Carolina, to join her daughter and family. ����������� She was a former member of the Northview United Methodist Church in Clarksburg. ����������� Surviving is her daughter, Rhonda Lee Barton Bell and her husband, Jay, of Matthews. �There are three grandsons: Michael Jay Bell of Greensboro, North Carolina; Nathaniel Barton Bell and his wife, Holly, of Lincolnton, North Carolina, and Corman (Corey) Lee Bell, also of Matthews. ����������� The light of her life was her great-granddaughter, Callie Faye Bell, of Lincolnton, who also survives, and she was looking forward to the arrival of her great-grandson, Logan Bell. ����������� In 2014, her husband of 63 years, Berlie L. Barton, Jr. preceded her in death. ����������� A love of chocolate milkshakes and delight in watching birds will be precious memories. ����������� Services will be held at a future date.
