� � � � �Dateline: Monroe,NC �Nora Lee Morris Starnes, 89, passed away February 14, 2018. Nora was born on November 9, 1928 in Union county to the late Jamie and Connie Morris. Nora is survived by her sons, Lester Starnes (Libby) of Monroe, Loyd Starnes (Carol) of Monroe, DJ Starnes of South Port; daughter in law, Elaine Starnes of Monroe; brothers, George Morris of Weddington, Pete Morris of Monroe; 11 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Starnes; son, James Otis Starnes; brother, M.C. Morris; sister, Emma Starnes; and grandson, Reggie Starnes. �A service to celebrate�Nora's life will held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Corinth Baptist Church in Monroe, North Carolina at 12:00 PM. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Burial�will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park after the service. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of White Oak Manor in Waxhaw for the loving care that was given to Ms. Starnes. In lieu of flowers, the family request for donations to be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Charlotte Region in Nora's name.
