It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sergeant Nicholas "Nick" Alan Magliocca announces his passing on June 12, 2026, at the age of 48. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on May 17, 1978, Nick answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Marine Corps in 2001.
He served proudly as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps as a Motor Vehicle Operator (MOS 3531), exemplifying the Corps' values of honor, courage, and commitment until his honorable discharge in 2005. A Marine through and through, he answered the call once again in 2006 when he was recalled to active duty and deployed back to Iraq. Through his leadership and dedication, Sergeant Magliocca led combat convoys in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, earning the Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Presidential Unit Citation in recognition of his dedicated and honorable service to his country.
Nick will be remembered for his dedication to his country and the strong bonds he shared with his fellow Marines. He never met a stranger and found the best in every person fortunate enough to know him.
Nick is survived by his wife of 17 years, Tonya; his three children, Elijah, Nico, and Gabriela; his father, Mike Magliocca (Sherry); his mother, Kim Williams; his brother, Tony Magliocca; his nephew, Carter; his niece, Cara; and his grandmother, Mary Lou Magliocca.
He was preceded in death by his son, Greyson Magliocca; his grandfathers, Sam Magliocca and Raeford Williams; his grandmother, Lynda Williams; and his aunt, Amy Williams Brown.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Holland Funeral Service and Crematory, located at 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112. Immediately following the service, a procession will travel to Shiloh Advent Christian Church, located at 3601 Sikes Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110. Military honors will be rendered in recognition of Nick's faithful and honorable service to our nation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, a cause close to his heart. Nick understood that not all wounds leave scars.
