Virginia (Ginny) Swierski lost her battle with ALS, passing away in NC on September 4, 2025. She was predeceased by her parents, George Soller Sr and Olive (Miranda) Soller, as well as her former husband, Thomas Swierski, and grandson Jonathan Swierski.

Ginny was born in Honesdale, PA on August 18, 1947. She grew up in Wurtsboro, NY and attended Monticello High School along with her siblings, Barbara, Joseph, and William Soller. She studied accounting at Sullivan County Community College and graduated from the Beauty School of Orange County to become a licensed beautician.

Ginny married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Swierski, and they settled in Wurtsboro where she gave birth to and raised their three sons, Thomas, Robert, and Scott Swierski. When her sons were grown, she retired to Newnan, GA and Naples, FL.

Besides being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Ginny enjoyed gardening, tending to her plants and flowers for hours on end. Her lawn looked as if it were professionally landscaped. She was also a passionate and devoted animal lover. She credits her miniature schnauzers with giving her a reason to go on living after her ALS diagnosis.

For the last two years, Ginny fought a courageous and valiant battle with ALS, losing the ability to speak at the onset of her illness. When she became unable to care for herself, her son, Scott, and his wife, Dawn, along with their daughter, Riley, moved her to NC to be near them. Ginny persevered with the love and support of Scott, Dawn, and Riley Swierski, as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Michael Duffy of Boca Raton, FL.

Ginny is survived by her three sons, six grandchildren, and three siblings. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who surrounded her with unwavering support, love, and devotion throughout her courageous battle with this horrific disease.
