Obituary

Sue Elaine McWhorter Broadway passed away on November 17, 2025, after a long battle with multiple medical issues. She was born on November 22, 1954 to the late Allen Wilson McWhorter and Kathleen McManus McWhorter.

She was preceded in death by her long-term life partner and soulmate, Jackie W. Haywood, and daughter, Lori Michelle Broadway. Also awaiting her in Heaven were her sister, Barbara Beckham, and her brother, Bo McWhorter.

Sue is survived by her son, Casey Shayne Broadway and his wife, Amanda, and daughter, Chasity Lynn Haywood. She was a devoted Mam-Maw to 7 beautiful grandchildren: Kierstin J. Broadway, Amanie L. Haywood, Samuel L. Brady, Clayton L. Broadway, Coleman L. Broadway, Tristin W. Allen, and Kathleen L. Broadway. She left behind siblings, Roger McWhorter (Late wife Ruby), Kenneth McWhorter, Phyllis McCune (Mark), Sherry York (Marty), and Tony McWhorter (Julia).

She loved her family and was a second "Mom" to many, if not all, of her numerous nieces and nephews. She loved to color, read books, spend time with her family, and most of all, her animals. You rarely saw her without a dog in her arms. Her family tells a story of a younger Sue, living in an old farmhouse surrounded by growing crops and little field mice would sneak in. Sue being the kindhearted, nurturing soul that she was, would feed the little rascals peanut butter and broken crackers! She had a desire to feed and care for all God's creatures. Sue will be missed terribly.
