Obituary

Patricia Uarda Pierce, 87, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021. She was born May 22, 1933 to the late Charles Pratt and Uarda Pratt. Patricia is preceded in death by her first husband, Lyle Johnson; second husband, Art Buhl; and third husband, Robert Pierce. A memorial service to celebrate Ms. Patricia's life will be announced at a later date. She is survived by her children, Ron Johnson, Renee Wilson, David Buhl, Robin Latka, and Scott Pierce; and many other special friends and family. Patricia was a woman of many interests. However, she took a special interest in classical music. She loved listening to classical music as well as playing the piano. Patricia also loved to travel. She spent a couple years in Athens, Greece with her son Ron and his father. Years later, she moved to Las Vegas where she retired from the Mirage Hotel and Casino. Patricia loved her family and always encouraged them to pursue their dreams. Patricia's family will share their favorite memories of her below… From Ron: Mom introduced me to classical music. She arranged for me to see the movie Fantasia. From that moment on I was hooked. She had a lot of classical albums that we would listen to. My taste in music was forever influenced by mom. From Scott: Mom loved watching Nebraska football and UNLV basketball. One of the most enduring moments as a teenager was her allowing me to celebrate with all the crazies after UNLV won the title in 1990. She was always supportive of allowing me to play sports and did everything she could to encourage it. From David: I am thankful Lori and I were able to spend time with mom in Vegas years ago. We had a very fun day with her at her apartment. Also went to dinner and Scott joined us. Wish we could have seen her again, but did enjoy many phone conversations throughout the years. We will miss you very much mom. From Robin: It was my 8th or 9th birthday, and I was at my Grandparents summer lake house. Mom hadn't arrived, nobody even said happy birthday. The whole day was gone, then came the storm. Mom finally got there. When I ran out to the car, she was pulling this huge stuffed elephant out of the car for me. Mom said Happy Birthday, sorry I'm late, then a big hug & kiss. At that moment, the Sun came out and there was a triple rainbow. She said that I was so special that God made that triple rainbow just for my birthday.
