Patricia Anne Leone, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2021 in Charlotte, NC. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Frank Leone, daughter Bonnie Sue Letitia, sister Carol Emma Verde, and parents Harold and Anna Mahan. Patricia is survived by her daughter, Christine Lee, son-in-law Matt Lee, grandchildren Haley (Mckinney) Higgins, Tyler and Caitlyn Lee, nephew Joe Verde, and her close friend and caregiver, Carol Thompson. She left behind her beloved cat, Pedro. Patricia, known to most as Pat, grew up in Suitland, MD. She graduated from Suitland High School in 1952. She lived the majority of her life in Howard County, MD. She worked in the Department of Human Resources at Howard County Government for 20 years before she retired in 2016. After retirement, she relocated to Charlotte, NC with her husband, Frank, to be closer to her daughter and youngest grandchildren. Patricia enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and quilting. She made at least a hundred baby blankets, sewed dresses and Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren, assembled beautiful quilts for friends and family. Her home was always adorned with family photographs, crafts from grandchildren, and her own crafts. She collected dolls and ladybug accessories. She enjoyed beach vacations, especially Virginia Beach and Ocean City, MD. Patricia provided care to many people throughout her lifetime. She took care of her sister, Carol, for decades then her nephew, Joe, after her sister passed away when Joe was 16yo. She welcomed her daughter, Christine and newborn granddaughter into her home in 1991. This allowed her daughter to attend college and provided a stable, loving environment for her granddaughter, Haley. She took care of her grandchildren, Tyler and Caitlyn, on many weekends. Most notably, she cared for her husband of 33 years until his death on October 28, 2020. She will be missed by any and all that knew her.
