Obituary

Marlene White beloved mother, grandmother, and great-great-grandmother fell asleep in death on August 22, 2024, at the age of 88. She was at home surrounded by her family just as she wanted.

Marlene was born in Abington, Pennsylvania and grew up in Ambler, Pennsylvania. Daughter to Theodore and Edna Collins she was the middle of 3 girls. On November 16, 1959 she married our beloved father, Frederick Ira White and together, they built a life dedicated to their family. Marlene was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in the fall of 1970, and her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Over the years, she regularly participated in the preaching and teaching work and served as a regular pioneer for a total of 15 years, helping to spread the message of the Kingdom hope through her ministry.

In her youth, Marlene was a model, gracing the world with her elegance and style. Her sense of fashion continued to inspire those around her throughout her life. She loved the beach, spending time down the Jersey Shore as much as possible. She loved classic movies, especially westerns, and adored listening to Billy Holiday. Most of all she loved attending meetings, conventions, and assemblies with Jehovah's happy people.

Marlene was the proud mother of four daughters: Pamela Marlane White, Jocelyn Victoria Inskeep (married to Scott Inskeep), Jill Denise White, and Amy Elizabeth Feather (married to John Feather). Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished her role as a grandmother to William Shelton Smith II, Frederick Brandon Smith, Jacob Elijah Feather (married to Autumn Feather), Summer Rain Carpenter (married to Ethan Carpenter), and Kai Hannah Elizabeth Bartimus (married to Levi Bartimus). She adored her great-grandchildren, Brendalise Smith, Levi Chandler Bartimus Jr., and Hannah Rhyan Bartimus.

Marlene was also a treasured aunt to Joseph Owens, Yvonne Goodman, (married to Bruce Goodman), Anthony Owens (married to Marilyn Owens), and Annette Ransom (married to William Ransom), as well as numerous great nieces and nephews who will all remember her with deep affection.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna, and Theodore Collins; her beloved husband, Frederick Ira White; her sisters, Gloria Collins and Jeanette Owens; her brother-in-law, Bernard Owens; her grandchildren, Jenna Jocelyn McCown and Bryan Christopher Smith and her niece, Yvette Owens.

Marlene's kindness, and unwavering faith touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 2207 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Zoom: mtg ID 886 892 881 PW- 068466
