Ms. Lou Ellen Yeargin Wiles, 83, passed away February 4, 2024, surrounded by family. Lou Ellen was born in Monroe, NC on October 20, 1940, to the late Rev. Obie Lee Yeargin and Lilla Mae Smith Yeargin. Lou Ellen was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Above all else, she loved her family and friends and was very dedicated to being a caregiver for her mother and her brother, Clyde. She loved cooking and was known for her chocolate cake, peanut butter drop cookies, coconut cake, and fried chicken. She will be truly missed and cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.

A service to celebrate Lou Ellen's life will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 in the Holland Funeral Service Chapel. The visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00pm until 12:45pm. Lou Ellen will be laid to rest at Lakeland Memorial Park following the service.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Broome Holland (Gary), Cynthia Miller (Larry), Amanda Clontz (Lance), and Sherry Eason; grandchildren, Nancy Hasty (Matt), Tabitha Eason (Andrew), Beth Morton (Steven), Becky Hayes (Josh), Nicholas Eason, Jonathan D. Holland (Jana), Alix Powell (David), Garrett D. Holland (McKenzie), Krishna Eason, and Karma Roy (Robert); 18 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who loved and cared for her very much.

In addition to her parents Lou Ellen was preceded in passing by her sister, Jean Campbell; brothers, Ellis Yeargins, and Clyde Yeargin.

A special thank you to Hospice of Union County and Center Well for the care of Lou Ellen that they provided in her final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midway Baptist Church, 4615 Olive Branch Rd. Wingate, NC 28174.
