Linda Faye Gaddy Baldwin, 70, of Indian Trail, passed away on July 27, 2022, after battling severe pulmonary hypertension and stage 4 kidney disease.
Linda was born on September 16, 1951 to Alice Ruth Hasty Gaddy and Julius Frank Gaddy in Monroe, North Carolina. Linda was the youngest of 6 children. Linda graduated from Wingate University and went on to serve a term in the United States Air Force.
On December 12, 1976, Linda wed Ronnie Lee Baldwin and they had 3 children together, Stephanie Marie, Melissa Renee, and Jennifer Leigh. After being widowed with 3 small children, Linda decided to focus on her girls and made sure they had what they needed. She was a Girl Scout Leader, always let the girls go to 4-H camp, overseas school trips, entertained their musical dreams, and, most importantly, brought them up in Church.
It may have been a quiet one, but Linda had a strong relationship with the Lord.
Linda was preceded in passing by her husband, Ronnie Lee Baldwin; mother, Alice Ruth Hasty Gaddy; father, Julius Frank Gaddy; sister, Mabel Ruth Gaddy; brother, James Harvey Gaddy; nephew, Randy Laney; and nephew, Richard Warren Laney. Linda is survived by her daughters, Melissa Renee Baldwin and Jennifer Leigh Baldwin; daughter, Stephanie Marie Butters and son-in-law, Brian Muir Butters; grandson, Elijah Muir Butters; sisters, Lois Watkins and Janice Laney; brother, Trudy Gaddy; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Per Linda's wishes, only graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at her final resting place, Marshville City Cemetery. Linda will be buried alongside her husband, Ronnie Lee Baldwin.
