Kristi Michele Szarka, 47, passed away March 12, 2023, after a lengthy illness. Born April 1, 1975, in Greensboro, NC. She was the youngest daughter of Rita H. Mullis and Sherrill W. Mullis of Badin, NC, and Robert Szarka of Greensboro, NC.

A memorial and celebration of life service will be held March 16, 2023 at Holland Funeral Service Chapel at 4:30 PM. in Monroe, NC.

Kristi leaves behind her two children, ( the loves of her life), Kennedy Layne Woodward of Marshville, and Levi Justus Woodward of Indian Trail, NC, her sister Bobbie Raye and husband Chip, ( who she called brother), and a brother Rob Szarka of Mississippi, nephews Trey Raye ( Alexis) and Luke Raye, and a niece Kaley Szarka.

Kristi's career at Windstream Holdings spanned almost 30 years. Coworkers and friends became family.

She wanted to be celebrated, not with sadness and tears, but with happy memories. Kristi loved playing games with family and friends, sunning at the beach, and spending time with those she loved.

Kristi knew that she would live on through her children and forever be remembered by those who loved her.
