Joyce Tarlton, age 79, passed away at her home in Monroe, NC the morning of Sunday, June 8th, 2025.

Joyce is survived by her son, Buck Tarlton and wife Julie of Wingate, NC, daughter Karen Deese and husband Roy, of Denton, NC, son Jamie Merritt of Pageland, SC, sisters, Sue Lowder (Jerry), Elaine Starnes, Darlene Bragg; brother, Doug Purser; and grandchildren Jennifer Tarlton, Shane Phifer, Jessica Milam, Julie Tarlton, Adam Hartsell, Dylin Tarlton, Beth Deese, and great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Hailey, Braydon, Jordyn, Peyton, Walker, Matthew, Callie, Nathan, Adaline, Olivia, and Sabrina.

In addition to her parents Joyce is preceded in passing by her husband, Buford Tarlton; brother, David Purser; sister, Elizabeth Couick, Ruth Courtney, Barbara Pressley, and Nell Merritt.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Lakeland Memorial Park.

Joyce will be remembered as a very dedicated worker who loved her job. She was a dedicated mother, and grandmother. She loved the outdoors and going to the beach and fishing.
