Jean Marie Huntley Jones was born on June 8, 1947, the youngest child of Hal and Velma Covington Huntley. She transitioned to her heavenly home on Monday, August 9, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Hallie Mae Raisin and Theo Frances Robinson; and two brothers, Robert and Johnny Hal.
Jean attended Winchester Avenue School and graduated in 1965. After graduation she attended Central Piedmont Community College. Realizing that she had a passion for others, she enrolled in and completed the Licensed Practical Nursing program at the Nursing School of South Carolina in Lancaster South Carolina. She began her nursing career at Union Memorial Hospital working as a floor nurse and later in the Smith Building.
She joined Black's Memorial Presbyterian Church at an early age and served as a Deacon during her attendance and until her health began to decline.
Jean leaves to cherish fond memories to her daughters, Jeanethia Jones, Tahara Jones, and Angel Jones; grandsons, Jatiere Smith and Khenis Melton; grand-daughter, Rylan Green; sister, Margaret Clayborne; brother, Archie Huntley (Lucinda); and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
