Janet Hasty Blakemore, born March 4, 1950, to the late Brons and Margie Hasty of Union County, passed away at home surrounded by love.

She is survived by her best friend and sweetheart, Wayne Polk; her two daughters, Lisa McClain (Sean) and Sheila Long (Jarrett); and two brothers, Mike Hasty (Carol) and Ronnie Hasty (Dee).

Jan was so proud to be "Maw-Maw Jan" to her six grandchildren—Dillon, Tyler, and Cooper McClain, and Katie, Bryce, and Davis Long—as well as her two beloved cats, Tippet and Boo. She had a creative and artistic spirit, finding joy in making special crafts for friends and family and tending to her beautiful flower and plant gardens.

Known for her amazing sense of humor, Jan loved having fun and taking memorable trips with her family. She greeted everyone with a smile and made others feel truly welcome. Even amid health challenges, she remained thoughtful, grateful, and full of love for those around her.

Her warmth, creativity, and laughter will be cherished forever.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Friendly Baptist Church, located at, 5418 Friendly Baptist Church Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00pm to 1:45 pm.
