Hildred Robinson Tompkins Gladden, 83, of Matthews, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday night Jan 4th' surrounded by her children. Hildred was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother to her family, whom she cherished. She loved spending time with anyone willing to sit down and visit. She was a member of Love Baptist Church, and had a Spirt of giving, always willing to help anyone in need. Hildred was preceded in death by Robert Tompkins Sr (1988) and Rowe Gladden (1999). She is survived by her children Debbie Dieterich (Hank) of Myrtle Beach SC, Sue Hearn (Gene) of Myrtle Beach SC, Judy Shanley of Mint Hill NC, Robert Tompkins Jr of Marshville NC, Chrissy Privette (Mike) of Marshville NC. 10 Grandchildren Michael Hood, Jason Hearn, Robert Shanley, Sherry Hood, Carrie Hendrix, Preston Tompkins, Michael Privette Jr., Shelby Tompkins, Brad Shanley, Matthew Privette. 21 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Special friends Keith Logan and Betty Carpenter. A visitation will be held on January 10th at Love Baptist Church in Monroe NC at 707 Deese Rd from 11:00am till Noon, with Funeral Services immediately following. Funeral procession will then continue to Forest Lawn East Cemetery. Pastor Don Thompson and his Son, Evan, will be officiating.
