Gloria Gail Helms, 83, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021. She was born January 27, 1937 to the late Eula Bowers. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Helms; mother-in-law, Carrie Price; and niece, Susan Cherico. A visitation will be held from 1:00pm -1:45pm Friday, January 15, 2021 in the chapel of the Union Baptist Association , 1744 Williams Rd, Monroe, NC 28110. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday January 15, 2021 immediately following the visitation in the chapel of the Union Baptist Association. Gail is survived by sons, Albert Eugene Helms, Jackie Helms (Pamela); granddaughter, Amanda Parker (Chris), great-grandaughters, Ezra and Kya Parker; sisters,Henrietta Pierce (Kerry) of Wingate, NC, Brenda Watkins (Rick) of St. Petersburg, FL, Linda Rape of Monroe, NC; numerous nieces and nephews and her dog, Trouble. Gail was a faithful Christian woman who was devoted to the Lord and loved her family. She enjoyed many things in life like bowling, cross stitching, cooking and traveling. Gail was a supervisor in the textile industry for several years until retiring to work at the bowling alley. Gail worked at Skyway Lanes Bowling Alley for over 15 years. After retiring, she loved to travel. She would travel down to Florida to visit with her sister, and even to the Mississippi River and the mountains of North Carolina. Gail will be truly missed and cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. Holland Funeral Service is serving the Helms Family.
