Gloria Jean Harrelson, 74, of Waxhaw, NC, passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2021. She was born December 10, 1946 to Ernest and Dorothy Nelson in Glendale, California. Gloria enjoyed gardening and caring for animals. No animal was ever left a stray when Gloria was around. She was a kind person who always found the good in everyone. As an active member at Hope of Israel Congregation, Gloria was a deeply religious person who was well loved by her church family. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 54 years, David S. Harrelson; daughters Susan Adams of Mint Hill, NC; Sherry Gary of Charlotte, NC; Shawn McKinney (Matt) of Stanley, NC; son Shane Harrelson of Athens, GA; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, and her brother Kenny Nelson of California. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
