She attended school in Mount Vernon, New York and graduated from Mount Vernon High School. ​Francetta accepted the Lord and Savior and was a member of The Greater Centennial A.M.E. Zion Church. As the hard and dedicated worker that she was, she successfully retired from Ma Bell Company also known as AT&T. After retirement, she found joy in helping children and became a Bus Monitor at First Student Bus Company for the past four years until fully retiring in Charlotte, NC. ​Francetta was united into Holy Matrimony to the late Donald D. Smith, Sr. for 36 years until the lord called him home in December 2006, and they are rejoined. Treasured memories will remain with their three loving children: Donald D. Smith, Jr. (Fuciena) of Georgia, Shawna L. Lewis (Kevin) of North Carolina, and Antoine L. Smith of Georgia. Seven grand-children: Sheniekwa Dozier (Nile),Lakeva Martin (Denzel), Katura Williams, Donald Smith III, Kasei Lewis, Destiny Smith, Antoine Smith, Jr. Seven great grand-children: Nyla, Jaden, Derrick, Cadence, Kain, Kole, and Daye. ​Francetta is survived by her siblings: Three brothers - Edward Bracey, Louis Williams (Gene) and Samuel Williams and Four sisters - Linda Gray (Larry), Carol Samples, Patricia Bracey, and Roxanne Guest. She was predeceased by Gregory Bracey, Wendy Williams, and Debria Ayers. She also has a host of nieces, nephews and friends. ​She was called home by the Lord on the morning of January 14, 2021, from natural causes in her home in Wesley Chapel, North Carolina. She was a loving mother and dedicated wife. She loved helping any and everyone. She never judge, just helped. She was full of life, a true New Yorker and a wonderful woman all around. She loved her family and family was always first. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 118:17, "I shall not die, but live and declare the work of the Lord". Services will be as follows: January 23, 2021 - Memorial services at 3:00pm at Blakely Funeral Chapel, 714 E Franklin St, Monroe, NC 28112. January 29, 2021 - Viewing at 23 E 2nd St, Mt Vernon, NY 10550 (3:00 PM-6:00 PM) January 30, 2021 - Graveside burial at 2 Saw Mill River Rd, Yonkers, NY 10701 at 12:00 PM (Noon) Flowers may be sent to: Lee O Wood Funeral Home 23 E 2nd St, Mt Vernon, NY 10550
