Frances "Shorty" Helms Tipton, 74, went home to be with her Savior on November 14, 2023. She was born and raised in Union County to the late Grady and Wilma Helms. Frances loved her church, Solid Rock Baptist Church. Frances was known as the "Biscuit Maker" at McDonald's and later at Tyson Foods in the cafeteria.

Frances was married to the late Charles Tipton. She was also preceded in passing by a son, Glen Tipton.

She has one daughter, Missy Helms. Frances also has three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Frances has two sisters, Edith Witmore, and Willie Synder and husband, Donny. She also has four brothers, Dennie "Pete" Helms and wife Cathy, Eddie Helms and wife, Kaye, Rick Helms and wife, Sue, and Roger Helms.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 2021 Claude Austin Rd, Monroe, NC 28112. Ms. Tipton will be laid to rest at the Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery immediately following the service. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 11:00am until 11:45am.
