After a strenuous battle with cancer, Fan Yi passed away on January 14, 2022, in Monroe, NC. She is survived by her two children, Patrick and Jane Negus. Fan was born on June 16, 1964 in Dalian, China, to father Xianwu Yi and mother Jishun Zhang. She grew up with sisters Quxing Yi and Aiping Yi, as well as her brother Geping Yi. Fan was sharp and quick-witted, graduating from the Beijing Institute of Technology and later the University of Connecticut, where she received a Masters in Mathematics. After having moved to the United States, Fan had two children: Patrick and Jane, both of whom were her pride and joy. She pursued a successful career performing prenatal ultrasounds for expectant mothers, a vocation that Fan loved because she gave so much joy to the mothers she worked with. Fan also had a deep passion for golf, and you could find her practicing religiously at the local greenways. Fan's bright and caring personality lit up any room, and she always took it upon herself to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. She will be sorely missed by everyone she touched with her generous and selfless heart. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Holland Funeral Service & Crematory. The service will begin at 7:00 PM following the visitation.
