Ellen Porter Hinson Simpson, born August 9, 1930, passed safely into the arms of Jesus on October 12, 2024 and joined her husband of 53 years, Dowd Allen Simpson.

She always had a way of seeing purpose in everything and she loved her family and her Lord.

Ellen Simpson is reunited with those loved ones that have gone before her. Her 94-year-old body is new, and she is delighting in all the treasures stored up for her alongside her heavenly Father. She was a faithful member of Mt. Springs Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dowd Allen Simpson, her mother, Ada Moser Hinson, and her father, Reuben James Hinson, and sister, Alease Hinson Strawn.

She is survived by her sons, Don (Cynthia) Simpson, and Richard (Bonita) Simpson; granddaughter, Tara Simpson Beaver and husband, Grant Beaver, great-granddaughter, Aria Beaver; and many nieces and nephews.

Ellen's life is being remember and celebrated at 11:00am at Mt. Springs Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 officiated by Rev. Dr. Chris Baucom and Rev. Barry Byrd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Faulks Baptist Church Cemetery.
