Ms. Dottie R. Blackburn, 86, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away May 9, 2025. She was born October 7, 1938 to the late Hugh and Naomi Rollins. Dottie will be remembered for her kindness and the love she showed to others. Dottie loved her family and made many sacrifices to make sure that they were always taken care of. She was a hardworking woman and determined to complete any task at hand. Dottie could often be found bringing joy to others by playing the piano at different churches and nursing homes. Dottie loved Jesus and her family find comforts in knowing that she is resting with her Lord and Savior.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive. Ms. Blackburn will be laid to rest at Lakeland Memorial Park immediately following the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 11:00am until 11:45am.

In addition to her parents, Dottie is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Robert Blackburn, son, Allen Blackburn, grandson, Adam Blackburn, great-grandson, Brandon Thompson, granddaughter, Kendall Goodwin, son-in-law, Edward Haigler, brother, Dallas Rollins, and brother-in-law, Bennett Baucom.

She is survived by her children, Teren Goodwin (Kenneth), Karen Haigler (Edward), and Edward Blackburn; grandchildren, Melinda Thompson (Ron), Jennifer Myers (Mark), Jacob Goodwin (Megan), Dakota Blackburn, Brian Blackburn, and Christopher Blackburn; great-grandchildren, Katelynn Conder (Landon), Jayla Rapp, Derrick Thompson (Keri), and Monica Thompson; great-great-grandchild, Tate Conder, sisters, Brenda Long (Tommy), Reba Baucom, Marilyn Williams (Danny), and Debbie Simpson (Mike).
