Donna Deaton Quan, 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 15, 2022. Donna was born in Charlotte NC on January 4, 1950, to the late Otis Deaton and Edna Fuquay Deaton. She was a kind and loving woman who never met a stranger and was always first to make others feel at home. She was known to many by her hippie name "Happy" because she never stopped smiling and brought joy to everyone around her.

Donna was a retired special education teacher dedicating her life to helping those most in need and truly touched the lives of all her students. When Donna wasn't teaching, she loved reading every day while sipping Coca-Cola and snacking on anything sweet. She was also an expert in all things Godzilla, Star Trek, and any survival show ever made. She would venture out with her friends to go ghost hunting, beach combing, or simply put her feet up and talk to all who would listen.

Above all else, Donna loved her two sons, Adam and Zack Quan. In her final years she cherished every opportunity by spending time with her grandson, Deklin Quan. Donna will be truly missed and will forever remain in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Saturday, January 7, 2022, at the home of Mr. Adam Quan. Please contact the family directly for the address and directions to the home.

Donna is survived by her children, Adam Quan (Suzy), and Zack Quan (Anna); brother, Larry Deaton; and numerous other special family members and friends.

Th family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Hospice of Union County and Donna's niece, Debbie Deaton Morris, for all the extended care and comfort that was offered to Donna during her final days.
