Deborah R. Morton, 49, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022. She was born on March 11, 1973, to Charles Hipp and the late Emilie Gutman Hipp. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Euto Baptist Church, 6019 NC-205, Marshville, NC 28103. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00am until 10:45am. Debbie leaves behind to cherish her memories, her son, Jake Morton; father of her son and close friend, Len Morton; father, Charles Hipp; sister, Charlotte Barkman(Jeff); niece and nephew, Cathryn and Josiah Barkman; special grandmother, Nadine Hicks; The Frick Family, who she loved as her own, Tony and Annette Frick, and god-daughters, Hayley Frick, Dallas Hathcock, Tiffany Gifford; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and so many others who thought of her as a sister, daughter, and friend. Debbie joins her mother, Emilie and her "Big" Aunt Charlotte in their heavenly home. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina but the world was truly her home; from North Carolina to Idaho, to Oklahoma, to Mexico, to Australia, to California and back. No matter where she landed, she had a deep love for others. She was the one to find the soul who was sitting in the corner, go over and befriend them. It was this spirit that Debbie had about her, that drew others in. Debbie loved others immensely with her whole heart; and above all else, she loved her "Sunshine" Jake. Debbie's family finds comfort in knowing that because of her acceptance of Jesus Christ, that she is finally at peace in her heavenly home.
