Coleen Derrick Smith went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 23, 2021. She was born in Monroe, NC on December 5, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Coley Derrick and Lura Jones Derrick. She was also preceded in death by her husband, of 55 years, Tommy Smith. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Holland Funeral Service 806 Circle Drive Monroe, NC. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM Lakeland Memorial Park 1901 Lancaster Avenue Monroe, NC. Coleen was a longtime member of the Believers Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail. She never met a stranger, loved bargain shopping, always having fun, and enjoying life to the fullest. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Coleen is survived by her by her three children, Greg Smith (Angie), Jamie Thompson (Kelly) and Wendy Alexander (Kevin) all of Monroe, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Scott Smith (Valerie), Mallory Pressley (Joe), Maddie Thompson, Payton Alexander and Emery Alexander. She has 3 great grandchildren, Ansley Smith, Ally Smith and Kimber Smith Pressley. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, Monroe, NC.
