Clydene Clontz, 86, went to her heavenly home on Monday, November 3, 2025. She was born May 30, 1939 to the late Joel Clyde Brooks and Rebecca Laws Brooks. Fondly known as "Mawmaw Dean", Clydene was a chocolate connoisseur, a nurse, biscuit maker (and always let her husband, Charles, take all the credit), and sticky inventor - which is a delicious chocolate pastry. She was a selfless woman who always put the needs of others before herself. Clydene will be cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Centerview Baptist Church, 2711 Old Pageland Marshville Road, Marshville, NC 28103. Ms. Clontz will be laid to rest in the church cemetery immediately following the service.

The family will receive friends prior to the service in the church fellowship hall from 10:00am until 10:45am.

In addition to her parents, Clydene is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Charles Clontz; brother, Sam Brooks; sisters, Jean Warren and Margaret Cloer.

She is survived by her children, Vickie Griffin (Teddy), Michael Clontz (Beth), Felecia Navarro (Julio), Becky Kapitan (Ray), and Jimmy Clontz (Robin); grandchildren, Aaron Griffin (Kimberly), Amber Witmore (Mike), Megan Clontz, Katy Moore (Jacob), Cameron Richardson (Noelle), Charli Richardson (Josh), Tommy Navarro, Tory Navarro, Jeffrey Griffin, Brooks Clontz (Paige), Jacob Clontz (Kayleigh), Quinton Helms (Brooke), Gavin Helms, and Sheldon Helms; 21 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Joel Clontz (Sylvia); sister-in-law, Peggy Funderburk; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Thomas Baker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Centerview Baptist Church, 2711 Old Pageland Marshville Road, Marshville, NC 28103.
