Carolyn Hand Thomas, 70, went to her heavenly home April 19, 2022. She was born October 19, 1951, to the late Wade Wilson Hand and Betty Pressley Hand. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in passing by her maternal grandparents, Hugh and Flossie Pressley; paternal grandparents, Harry and Carrie Hand; and cousin, Judy Hudspeth. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Gospel Free Will Baptist Church, 2901 Belk Mill Rd, Wingate NC 28174. Carolyn leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Lorie Winchester; brothers, Danny Hand (Sis), and Chris Hand (Sharon); niece, Lia Mathis; one great-niece; one great-nephew; and many other special family members and friends. Carolyn was a kind and good-hearted woman. She loved her family fiercely and even "adopted" many children as her own grandchildren. She loved working in retail. She worked for KMART for 18 years and then retired after working an additional 18 years at Walmart. Carolyn also loved sending out cards for every occasion and drawing elephant silhouettes. She will be cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. Holland Funeral Service is serving the Thomas Family.
