Carolyn Ruth (Hrubo) James passed away February 24, 2022, in Charlotte, NC. She was born on February 26, 1950, in Charlotte and raised in Garfield Heights, Ohio where she graduated from high school, class of 1968. She earned her associate degree from Endicott College in Beverly, MA in interior design and had a successful career in marketing and sales. She was creative and artistic. Carolyn was an avid nature lover. As a certified backyard habitat volunteer through the National Wildlife Federation, Carolyn created her flower gardens to be an oasis for wildlife – attracting birds, butterflies, and frogs – including "Angelina" the treefrog who returns each year to a birdhouse! Carolyn had a quick witt and a flair for the dramatic, evidenced in her unique and distinct style from hair to clothes. She often quoted Coco Channel – "You only live once. You might as well be amusing." When Carolyn walked into a room, all eyes were on her. Carolyn will be missed by her beloved cat Zsa Zsa, special nieces, twenty cousins and many friends spread from coast to coast whom she loved deeply. Special thanks to Judy, Janet, Theresa and Bunny. Carolyn is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Ruth Hrubo, former husband Tom James, and stepson Michael Ludman. She is survived by sisters Linda (Chris), Marcia (Neil deceased), niece Kelly and ex-husband Ed Ludman lll. A celebration of life will be May 21, 2022 at 3PM at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ohio. In lieu flowers of flowers, donations in Carolyn's name may be made to local animal shelter or the National Wildlife Federation. Holland Funeral Service, Monroe is handling online condolences.
