Raleigh, North Carolina - ASHLEY KRISTIN GOAD (Drinnon) God blessed us with the birth of Ashley on June 19, 1974 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Her life was heartbreakingly cut short, a result of being murdered in her home located in Union County, NC. Ashley is survived by her mother Sally Jackson Goad Gryder. She was pre-deceased by her father, John Brian Goad, grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Angus Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Goad, and her aunt, Mrs. Caroline Jackson Bruneau. Ashley was immensely loved by her many cousins and wonderful and faithful friends. Ashley grew up in Raleigh, graduated from St. Mary's High School, attended East Carolina University and received a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Barton College. She completed post-graduate courses teaching special needs and pre-school children. Ashley was beginning an exciting pursuit of developing exemplary pre-school programs for children. Ashley had recently applied to be a contestant on the famous television show "Wheel of Fortune" of which she was an avid fan and had an insightful perception for knowing the phrases generally before any letters were revealed. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering following the memorial service. This gathering will be at 3401 Sir Colleton Court, Raleigh NC. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church located at 7000 Creedmoor Rd, Raleigh NC In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Wake County chapter of "The Compassionate Friends - Supporting Family After a Child Dies".
