Annie Delores Sutton Richardson passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, at 11:23am. Annie Delores was born in York County, South Carolina on June 4, 1940. She was the fourth of five children born to Charlie Cleve Sutton and Margie Miller Sutton. She was a life-long resident of Union County. In 1959 she married the late Samuel Rayford Richardson. They were married for 42 years until his death. She was the mother of four children, Rusty (Sue) Richardson, Tommy Richardson, Vicky (Randy) Polk, and Lora Snavely, and grandmother to five grandchildren, Cameron, Charlie, and Harper Richardson, Brandon Polk, and Dakota Snavely. Tye and Judy Pickett were also very close friends for many years. Her siblings who are predeceased were Reid, William, Joe Neal Sutton, and Vera Sutton Burgess. Her daughter, Laura, and grandson, Dakota are predeceased as well. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Annie loved and was an active member at Solid Rock Baptist Church. She was part of the Secret Sister Ministry. Annie graduated from Mineral Springs High School and self-taught herself to sew. Throughout the years, Annie became a seamstress and sewed for the general public. She worked at Perfect Fit and later worked at Benton heights Elementary School of the Arts where she worked the cafeteria and then the after-school program. Annie attended to the babies in the nursery at Open Book Baptist Church and also worked at Wilma's Daycare. She retired in 2010. She loved making and creating crafts and always attending her church. She never met a stranger, and her home was a gathering place for her many friends and family.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 2021 Claude Austin Road, Monroe, NC 28112. Ms. Richardson will be laid to rest at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following the service. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00pm until 1:45pm.

Following the services at the cemetery, the family will be gathering at 1817 Haigler Baucom Road, Monroe, NC 28110 and invite those in attendance to join them.
