Yvonne Knight-Brandes of Dahlonega, GA (formerly of Mineral Springs, NC)

Mrs. Brandes left this world unexpectedly to us, Saturday, March 16, 2024. She laid down for a nap and woke up in the arms of her Heavenly Father.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Mary Elizabeth Baptist Church, 3703 Mary Elizabeth Church Rd, Waxhaw, NC 28173. Mrs. Knight-Brandes will be laid to rest at the church cemetery immediately following the service. The family will receive friends from 9:00am until 9:45am at the church prior to the service.

She was the daughter to the late Luther Vance Parker and the late Margaret Grass Parker. Also preceded in passing by her 1st earthly love, Larry Knight, grandson, Shane Jenkins, brother, Davis Parker, and sisters, Ruth Shingleton and Gail Campbell.

Mrs. Yvonne loved God and her family! While living in Mineral Springs she owned Hair Trends Salon and was an active member at Mary Elizabeth Baptist Church in Waxhaw. Eventually, she met and married her 2nd earthly love, Doug Brandes. The two eventually moved to the mountains in Dahlonega, GA. They served and worshiped God at Dahlonega Baptist Church.

Mrs. Yvonne had many God-given gifts and talents. She used them to serve God and love on others. Just to name a few: prayer warrior, teacher, mentor, mother figure, make-up artist, cosmetologist, cooking, sewing, painting, flower gardening, and the list goes on and on.

God and family were most important to Mrs. Yvonne. She just loved her family getting together. Then came entertaing and socializing (often referred to as the Martha Stewart on steroids). Mrs. Yvonne's home was always open and there was always room at her table. If you knew her you were in the family, kin or not.

Mrs. Yvonne is survived by her love of 11 years, Doug Brandes, children, Randy Knight, Greg Knight, Tony Knight, Amanda Jenkins (Boyce), Kenny Pace (Melissa), William Weger (Annette); grandchildren, Chris Knight (Ashley), Josh Knight (Ashley), Tim Knight, Kaylon Knight, Luther Jenkins, Kacie McCarver (Roger), and Austin Karley; great-grandchildren, Maddox, Dexton, Brox, Laina, Lydia, Lawson, Mattie, Wells, Paisley, Makayla, Ava Grace, Aiden, Rhylin, Aurora, Cian, and Rhayne.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Yvonne Knight Brandes to Crisis Assistance Ministry of Union County; Mary Elizabeth Baptist Church missions or building fund; Dahlonega Baptist Church missions or building fund; or to a charity of your choice.
