Troyanne Hinson, 61, passed on May 1, 2022. She was born in Mecklenburg County on May 8, 1960, to the late Troy and Alice Griffin. She is preceded in passing by her sister, Janie Drueding and brother Phillip Griffin, as well as grandparents, Robert and Odessa Glenn Starnes and Henry and Ida Griffin. She is survived by her loving husband of 8 years, Samuel Mark Powell; daughter, Savannah Hinson; brother, Bobby Griffin (Linda); best friend, Marsha Belk; nephew, Brian Richardson; nieces, Allison Griffin and Heather Teff; many other family members and friends and her sweet cat, Tiglet. Mrs. Hinson was a graduate of Parkwood High School in 1978 and later received her degree from Wingate College in 1982. She was the former co-owner Directions Boutique of Monroe and was a member of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail. She worked in customer service at Assa Abloy until she retired in 2018. Mrs. Hinson loved to play the piano, travel and loved being around loved ones at home. She loved spending summers at Springmaid Campground at Myrtle Beach and Camp Meeting every year at Pleasant Grove Campground where in 2014 she married her husband under the arbor. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend and will be terribly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Holland Funeral Service. A visitation will be held prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Hospice of Union County. Holland Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the Hinson family.
