Polly Diane Driggers, age 62, of Union County, passed away on September 21, 2024. Born on February 18, 1962, Polly was known for her open and kind-hearted nature, exemplifying a life of compassion and devout Christian faith from a young age. She dedicated her life to caring for others, both as a cherished member of the Houston Baptist Church community and through her professional work in elderly care at Hillcrest Baptist Church Elderly Care.

Polly was a pillar of strength and love within her family. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert Driggers; her daughter, Kristen Starnes, and son-in-law, Michael Starnes; her three brothers, David Helms and his wife Maye, Benny Helms and his wife Cheryl, Randy Helms; and her five grandchildren, Bethany Gerstenmier, Matthew Starnes, Bryson Driggers, Gabriel Mauney, and Hunter Mauney.

Polly was preceded in death by her parents, Ben Wilson Helms and Myrtle Ann Helms; her daughter, Jennifer Mauney, Her unborn Son Matthew Driggers, Two Sisters Susan Helms Penniger And Paulette Helms Kennedy, Carol Ann Helms, Two Brothers James Helms and John Wayne Helms.

Throughout her career, Polly was a beloved figure at Houston Baptist Church, starting in 1980 in the daycare, where she nurtured countless children with unwavering care and affection. Her hobbies included social gatherings, whether it was enjoying coffee outings with her daughter, movie nights with her sister-in-law and niece, or hosting get-togethers at the church. Polly also had a passion for cooking shows, which brought joy to her and those around her.

The community is invited to honor Polly's life and legacy at Houston Baptist Church, located at 4405 Waxhaw Hwy. Monroe, NC 28112. A viewing will be held at 1 PM, followed by a service at 2 PM with Pastor Scott Couick officiating, and burial directly after the service on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
