Phyllis Deese Griffin went to her heavenly home on September 23, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 5, 1939, the daughter of the late Frank and Florence Woodard Deese. Phyllis is preceded in passing by her husband of 54 years Albert Griffin. She is also preceded in death by six brothers, three sisters, one grandchild Roger Griffin Jr., and one great-grandchild Lyrit Long.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 25, 2023, in the Winston Chapel of Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive Monroe, NC 28112 with burial to follow in the Faulks Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM Monday at the funeral home.

Phyllis had many jobs over the years but found the most joy as an Avon Sales Representative for 30 years. It allowed her to meet many people and make many friendships. Phyllis enjoyed meeting her high school classmates for breakfast once a month on Wednesday, whenever she was able.

She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Polk of Wingate, Michelle Long (Danny) of Monroe, two sons, Wayne Griffin (Sherry) of Charlotte, Roger Griffin (Cheryl) of Wingate,11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren, a sister, Elizabeth (Lib) Williams of Monroe and many special nieces and nephew.

Phyllis touched many lives with her love and compassion and many will tell you that their lives were changed by her. She made everybody feel loved and important. She was a devout Christian and loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart.
