Kristin Elaine Crawford (Detwiler),41, passed away on August 29,2024 in Monroe, North Carolina. She was born in Gainesville Florida. She attended school at Archer Elementary, Oakview Middle School and Newberry High School. She attended Santa Fe College and completed her Equine Science and Agribusiness degrees from the University of Florida.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Holland Funeral Service and Crematory 806 Circle Drive Monroe, NC 28112.

She first worked as a vet technician at the UF Large Animal Hospital and then Wells Fargo where she started as a teller and was currently an Environmental Financial Portfolio Specialist.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her Uncles Bob and John, Aunt Vicki, cousin Shannon, and nephew Austin and her soul mates Lucy and Florida Bid. She is survived by her husband Michael Crawford, her Parents Michael and Marjorie Detwiler, brother Matthew Detwiler, father-in-law William H. Crawford, mother-in-law Cynthia Althouse, sister-in-law Tracy Venable, and nephew Chase Venable . She is also survived by many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins and of course her many animal family members.

While Kristin would always be a UF Gator and Jacksonville Jaguar fan, she believed that when you move, you should support the local teams and that's how she fell in love with the Carolina Hurricanes hockey team.

She felt deeply about giving back to the community volunteering with Make-a-Wish and visiting nursing homes with her therapy cat Shawn so we ask that instead of flowers please donate in Kristin's name to a horse rescue of your choice.
