Mrs. Frances Kay Haigler, 77, of Wingate, North Carolina, passed away December 9, 2024. She was born in Monroe, North Carolina on March 11, 1947 to the late McDowd Williams and Lilly "Mae" Honeycutt Williams. Kay never met a stranger and took every opportunity to share her love for the Lord with anyone she met. She loved children and cared for children in her home for 16 years before working at a substitute teacher for over 23 years at Union County Public Schools. She also enjoyed working in her garden and playing with her cat, Kissie. She will be remembered for her selfless, loving, and compassionate nature by all those who knew and loved her.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Austin Grove Baptist Church, 5919 Austin Grove Church Road, Marshville, NC 28103. Mrs. Haigler will be laid to rest at the church cemetery immediately following the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112.

In addition to her parents, Kay is preceded in passing by her sisters, Mildred Baucom, Shirley Edwards, and brother, Vann Williams.

Kay is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Avery Haigler; daughters, Amanda Poulter (Robert) of Wingate, NC, and Amy Green (Scott) of Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Carlos (Cristal), Daniel, David, Caleb, and Aidan Figueroa, Natalie, Macey, and John Avery Green; great-granddaughter, Liliana Rose Figueroa-Marcelino; brother, Ray Williams of Carolina Beach, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Austin Grove Baptist Church, 5919 Austin Grove Church Road, Marshville, NC 28103.
