Mrs. Katherine Dorothy Kocan, 78, passed away June 14, 2025. She was born March 18, 1947 to the late Walter and Ruth Purdy.  On July 6, 1985, Kathy married the love of her life, Edward Kocan. Kathy will be remembered for her kindness and the helping hand she always gave to others.

Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 40 years, Edward Kocan; siblings, Patrick Purdy, Minerva Smith, Lois Shed, and Michael Purdy; and numerous nieces and cousins.

In lieu of fresh flowers, please consider sending plants that can be replanted at Ms. Kocan's Home.

Services will be held from 12:00pm until 2:00pm on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the American Legion Post 27 in Monroe, NC. Services will continue from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the VFW in Monroe.
