Jean Rushing, 85, of Waxhaw, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Jean was born June 12, 1938, in Union County, a daughter to the late John Harrison and Mary Bright Helms Hammonds. She is also preceded in death by her husband, JC Rushing, Jr., one brother and three sisters.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 5, 2024, at Corinth Baptist Church with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM Friday at the church.

Jean is survived by a sister, Betty Smith and her husband Gary; her son, Steve Rushing, and his wife Roxane, two daughters, Lorri Elms, Janna Wilson, and her husband James, six grandchildren, Matthew Rushing, and his wife Lisa, Tandi Gerow and her husband Charley, Jason Elms and his wife Amber, Meagan Nesbit, Jeremy Wilson and his wife Crystal, Brittany Kristin Stanford, and her husband Dustin, and 10 great-grandchildren.
