Evelyn Lucille Wilson Hilton, wife of Larry William Hilton, entered into Heaven's Gates on November 5, 2022. Evelyn Hilton was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt to all of her family.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 4:30pm until 5:45pm.

Evelyn was born on March 4, 1930, to William Henry and Mamie Cochrane Wilson. Evelyn married the love of her life, Larry Hilton, on March 10, 1962, along with four of her children. Two years later the fifth child was born. To know her was to love her. She had a gentle spirit that touched the lives everyone. Most of her days after retirement were spent working side by side wine making for the family business with her best friend and loving husband. She found joy surrounded by her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids watching birds fly and sing on beautiful spring days and growing the most beautiful flowers. Most of all, she enjoyed all her moments spent with the love of her life who graciously and lovingly cared for her.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Larry W. Hilton; daughters, Jean (Harry) Showmaker, Patsy (Johnny) Mangum, Joey (Jeff) McNeill; sons, Thomas (Nora) Horton, and William (Kim) Hilton; and brother, Edward Wilson. Evelyn has ten grandchildren, Meredith Player, Chris Horton, Shaun Mangum, Chasity Horton, Ryan Haywood, Ashley Melton, Summer Hilton, Eric Showmaker, Harry Showmaker III, and Missy McCord; sixteen great grandchildren, Gabe Horton, Grayson Horton, Kash Mangum, Maveric Mangum, Lucy Haywood, Luke Haywood, Landon Haywood, Hannah Moore, Bayden Melton, Justin Melton, Madison McCord, Steven McCord, Will Showmaker, Eli Showmaker, Zac Showmaker, and Riley Showmaker; and many nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws.

She was preceded in passing by her parents, William Henry and Mamie Cochrane Wilson, sisters, Zelda Gladden, Margaret Penninger, Dorothy Turner, Ruth Walters, Ruby Simpson, and Frances Goode; brothers, Harold Wilson, Bud Wilson, Junior Wilson, and Nick Wilson; granddaughter, Chasity Horton; and son-in-laws, Jerry Helms, and Randy Haywood.

She will forever live on in the hearts of all that loved her, for we know this is not goodbye, but see you soon.
